Recognizing Excellence and Reinvesting in our Membership
Jason Reynolds, MD
President, Society for Pediatric Sedation

Consistent with our mission to be the multidisciplinary leader in the advancement of pediatric sedation by promoting safe high quality care, innovating research, and quality professional education, I am pleased to be able to announce the SPS Scholarly Grant. The grant was approved by the Board of Directors and is part of the strategic vision of the Society. Under the leadership of Dr. Amber Rogers, the grant is a result of the collaborative work of the Research, Quality & Safety, and Education Committees and we are ready to begin accepting applications for the first round of awards.

The spirit of the grant is to provide seed money to initiate pilot grants aimed at advancing our mission. Thus the scholarly grant can be used for projects aimed at quality improvement, promotion/development of educational resources, or traditional research projects. The grant will provide up to $10,000 in direct costs for projects expected to be completely in one year. The application process is competitive but the number of grants available will depend on a number of factors and the Society may offer more than one award each year.

As we continue to mature as a Society, we are committed to find new ways to foster the professional growth of our individual members and empower our institutional members to advance the practice of pediatric procedural sedation. If you have any questions about the grant or I can help in any way, please reach out to me any time.

All the best,

Jason Reynolds, MD
