The Society for Pediatric Sedation Provider CourseTM continues to further our mission of promoting safe and effective pediatric sedation.
Last year, Anne Stormorken, MD, Anna Lin, MD, Jaimee Holbrook, MD, Nicole Johnson, MD, and Trish Scherrer, MD, worked together to create five interactive online modules. These case-based modules highlight the fundamentals of procedural sedation from the pre-sedation assessment to post-sedation discharge.
The SPS Provider Course Syllabus also saw content review and updates. We want to thank the dedicated SPS members who made this possible and Amber Rogers, MD, who oversaw the transformation of the SPS Provider CourseTM Syllabus into an online e-book. Corrie Chumpitazi, MD, and Kamal Abulebda, MD, standardized the high-fidelity simulation programs used throughout the course. The combination of online modules and resources with our full day of high-fidelity simulation provides a blended course that offers participants the most comprehensive training to date.
Our new course launched in May 2019 at Children’s Hospital of Colorado in Aurora, CO. Since that time, Corrie Chumpitazi, MD, and Kamal Abulebda, MD, have been busy directing courses nationwide, including at the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Conference in Seattle, WA, the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellows Conference in Salt Lake City, UT, and the Pediatric Critical Care Summit of the Americas in Houston, TX. We are excited to be expanding the PHM Fellows Conference Course from 12 to 24 participants.
We are incredibly fortunate and grateful for the amazing educators, clinicians, administrators, child life specialists, simulation experts, and researchers who have dedicated their time, energy and resources to share their expertise with our participants. Thank you so much for all you do!
